This past week as Kim and I were returning to Western Montana...
...and we stopped off at Selkirk Mountain Elk Ranch in Northern Idaho!...
... Well we have driven past this ranch for several years...
And decided that it was time to pay a visit!
Meet Swift!
The Ranch's bottle fed mascot bull elk!
Hello, I'm Kimmie....
..."Shake... Shake?... SHAKE???!"
(Swift)..... maybe slightly impressed... or
curious!"
"Hi, I'm Fred Robbins, Pleased to meet you!"
"Swift loves carrots!"
"I'm Swift, I weigh roughly 850 pounds, and I'm
all muscle!"
..."That Swift, he always gets all the
attention!"
..."Just turn your back to him, Bro!"
..."So he gets carrots, we still got all the
grass we can eat!"
..."That's right Swift show 'em your back side!"
Kimmie loves you Swift!
..."One day my antlers will be big too, and Cody
will love them!"
Meanwhile, Swift gets spoiled with more
carrots!"
...and more carrots...
...While the girls keep there eyes on the guys,
and carrots!
Elsa here (1yr old) has her eye on the carrot
that Fred has...
The drama continues...
Flower, the pregnant cow elk, loves carrots as
well!
Well, by now the girls think that I should
leave, I ran out of carrots...
So Flower and I hugged each other...
And we kissed goodbye.
