Cody's fishy story, Chapter 2

My Wife Kimmie and I traveled North last year to beautiful Homer Alaska, for some much needed R&R and some deep sea fishing.

Homer is known for its huge halibut and its just as famous fishing derby that runs from June to September. Last years largest fish a 354 and a half pound monster took home the prize money of $40,400.00! (Yes, you did read that correctly!)

We fished the first day on the Kasilof River Where Kim hooked but did not land a couple of 20 pound plus Kings... I managed to wrestle in a 2 pound dog salmon!

Not much luck salmon fishing but it was still a very relaxing float trip.

We were fishing with Captain Scott, A expert captain and Fisherman. A real pleasure to spend time with!

Our first day out halibut fishing found half our party seasick. Unfortunately, Kim was among the walking wounded!

We still managed to limit out (two fish per person)

35 and 40 pound fish

On our last day of fishing one of our group caught a 122 pound halibut, (see video below)

The ironic thing was that he caught the fish on a sculpin head that was from a sculpin I had caught the day before... I guess one could say that, "I caught the fish, that caught the fish!".

And that's fishing!
